Willard Chester Boyett

December 2, 1949 — May 22, 2021

Willard Chester Boyett, age 71, walked into the arms of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on May 22, 2021 after residing briefly at The Place at Shadows Oaks in Aiken, South Carolina.

Born to Bessie and Artie Boyett on December 2, 1949 in Alma, GA, Willard graduated from Patterson High School and served as a radioman in the US Navy. After moving to Warner Robins, he worked as a mechanic and manager at Franklin Battery for 34 years, and was employed by the Houston County Board of Education for 10 years. Willard was an ordained deacon at Oakland Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Willard was preceded in death by granddaughter, Kimberli Griffin, nephew, Charlie Boyett, and great-nephew, Bo Bradham.

Willard is survived by his wife and best friend, Donna Boyett of Warner Robins; siblings, Charles (Barbara) Boyett of Douglas, GA; Tina Franklin of Warner Robins; and Mickey (Nita) Boyett of Warner Robins; step-children: Dr. Michael Anderson of Birmingham, AL; and Dr. Jennifer (Eric) Hornick of Macon; grandchildren, Nicholas McCullough, Abigail
McCullough, and Anderson Hornick, all of Macon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at McCullough Funeral Home on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Rev. Mike Winfree will conduct the funeral service at the McCullough Chapel on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens on Carl Vinson Parkway. For friends unable to attend at this time, the service will be streamed live via the McCullough Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/mcculloughfuneralhome/live/.

Although flowers will be accepted, memorial contributions can be made to Oakland Baptist Church Building Fund, 1509 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

The family gives special thanks to Willard's niece, Sherri (Joe) Stinson and her staff members at Shadow Oaks and Hospice Services of SC for their loving care as he endured the effects of Lewy Body Dementia.
