William "Bill" Miller, Sr.

October 31, 1924 — April 12, 2009

William T. Miller, Sr. 84, entered into rest on Sunday, April 12, 2009.

Mr. Miller was born on October 31, 1924 in Anderson County, Tennessee. With pride and honor he served in the United States Army in World War II and was assigned as a cryptographic specialist providing secure communications on the Island of Iwo Jima. Subsequent to the war, he continued to serve in Civil Service as an Electronics Supervisor. He was also longtime owner and operator of Roller Drome Skating Rink, supported local Boy Scouts Troops for many years and was of the Baptist faith. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles T. Miller and Allie Coker Miller, grandson, Allen Miller, and brother, Larry Miller.

He will forever live in the hearts of his wife of fifty-nine years, Johnie Caruthers Miller, Warner Robins; sons, Billy Miller (Tammy) and Jeff Miller (Debbie); daughter, Vicki Chandler (Barney), all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Tori Miller, Jodi Hampton, Clint Miller, Chad Chandler and Lance Chandler; great-grandchildren Zaria, Zed and Kinsley; sisters, Helen Steinhouser, San Diego, California, Bobbie Fallen, Pensacola, Florida; Velma Edmonson, Cleveland, Tennessee; brother, Paul Miller, San Francisco, California; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home, Reverend Paul Mullen officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
