William Elbert Chambers, Jr., 87, entered into rest on Monday, October 28, 2013.
William was born on April 1, 1926 in College Park, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and retired Civil Service from Robins Air Force Base. William was also a member for several years of the Twin Bridges Fire Department at Lake Sinclair. His parents, William Elbert Chambers, Sr. and Leacy Lee Chambers; brothers, Jack and Charles Chambers; and sisters, Juanita Kilgore and Rhudean Jarrett, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his brother, Harold Chambers (Barbara), Warner Robins, Georgia; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Second Baptist Church with interment following in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
