William Henry Ackner, Sr.

William Henry Ackner, Sr., 87, entered into rest on Monday, August 17, 2009.

Mr. Ackner was born on June 7, 1922, in Taborton, New York. With pride and honor, he served his country in the United States Army. After his military career, he worked in Heating and Air Conditioning Plumbing at Ackner Fuels until retirement. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Crandall; parents, Henry J. Ackner and Myrtle C. Gottschalk Ackner; daughter, Mary Maxfield; and siblings, Virginia Boomhower, Donald Acker and Mildred Schmidt.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Sharon Catlin, William Ackner, Jr., (Rebecca), Roger Ackner, Bonnie Bedard, Terry Goodermote (Yumi), Cathy Walters (Phillip), Sharon Brock (Timothy), Elaine Hernandes (Ed), and Daniel Goodermote (Darlene); several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Poestenkill Fire Department, 182 Mail Street, Poestenkill New York 12140
