William Herbert Martin Jr.

April 29, 1926 — April 19, 2018

William Martin, 91, entered into rest on Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Pop was born on April 29, 1926 in Castleberry, Alabama. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Later, Pop began his career at Robin Air Force Base where he worked in civil service until his retirement. Pop was known as a saint, who was a hard worker and always willing to help others in need. He faithfully served the Lord at Unity Baptist Church. Pop was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances Myra Martin. His granddaughter, Janie Willis, parents Martha and William H. Martin Sr., siblings, Reginald Martin, Mae Ewers, Myrtice Watson, Nellie Good, and Gilbert Martin.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, William D. Martin Sr. (Peggy) of Warner Robins, William D. Martin Jr. (Sandy) of Byron, Valeria Squires (Auda) of Hawkinsville, and granddaughter, Denise Fallows (Frank) of New Jersey, and many great-grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619. .

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with Mr. Martin’s arrangements. Radney Funeral Home is entrusted with services in Alabama and any flowers for Mr. Martin’s family should be sent to their location at 3155 Dauphin St, Mobile, AL 36606.
