William Steven Morgan

William Steven Morgan, 87, entered into rest on Monday, February 21, 2022.

Born on August 31, 1934, in Fyffe, Alabama, William was the son of the late William S. Morgan, Sr. and Irene Johnson Morgan. After high school graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he served as a Medic. Following his military career, he worked as a technician in radiology. William went on to become a CT technician in Bloomington, Illinois, and later in Medford, Oregon.

On June 9, 1967, he married Laverna Mae Thieszen. In February of 1971, the couple were both baptized on their confession of faith at Heyworth Christian Church, in Heyworth, Illinois. William and Laverna were blessed with two sons. They had been married for over 54 years. For the past two and a half years, Perry was their home. His hobbies included going on walks with Laverna, reading, bowling, and playing on the computer. He was also a member of First Christian Church in Perry, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, Laverna Mae Thieszen Morgan; son, Barry Scot Morgan; sisters, Emma McBride and Pat Mast, both living in Illinois; and two brothers, Leonard Morgan living in Alabama, and Ralph Morgan living in Colorado.

He was preceded in death by a son, Aric Ross Morgan; his father, William S. Morgan Sr.; his mother, Irene Morgan; and a sister, Lois Christa.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, in Magnolia Park Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
