William Terrell Mccord

William Terrell McCord, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 14, 2018.

Terrell was born in Muscogee County, Georgia on July 29, 1929 to the late John Lamar McCord and Kate Bussey McCord. Growing up in Geneva, he graduated from Talbot County High School in 1946 and proudly joined the United States Army. After his military service, Terrell went to work at Lummus Cotton Gin Company as a machinist for 19 years. Later, he decided to work for the City of Manchester Water Department and accepted the supervisor position of the City of Talbotton Water Department where he worked for 26 years. Terrell was always interested in sports and played softball on the senior citizens’ team until he was about 74 years old. He was also active in western style square dancing for 25 years. Terrell was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church until his health began to decline.

His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 64 years, Helen Foster McCord of Kathleen; and daughter, Jan McCord Foshee, a retired educator of 34 years from the Houston County Board of Education in Warner Robins.

Visitation will be Friday, February 16, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery, Clark St., Talbotton, Georgia where he will be laid to rest.
