Winona Squires

June 12, 1926 — July 23, 2017

On the morning of Sunday, July 23, 2017, Winona Squires joined her beloved husband, TSgt. Auda F. Squires, Jr., USAF (Ret.) in heaven. She was 91 years old.

Winona was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on June 17, 1926 to the late Robert Harry Vaughan and Norris Wright Vaughan. Winona was a devoted military wife and career mother whose focus in life was taking care of her husband and family. She was always very involved with her children’s activities in school, sports, and girl scouts. Winona also loved volunteering to help people and started an organization called the HELLO Group (Helping Elderly Living Loved Ones). In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Harry Vaughan, Jr. and Elma Jean Vaughan.

Winona’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, Sarah E. Tait of Centerville and Auda F. Squires III (Valerie L.) of Hawkinsville; grandchildren, John R. Williams (Stephanie), Christopher L. Williams, Aaron M. Squires (Ashley), and Chelsey E. Palma (Stephen); and great-grandchildren, Madelyn Grace Williams, Bentley C. Williams, Bailee R.
