Wyman Herbert

July 24, 1940 — September 8, 2018

Wyman Herbert passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of Saturday, September 8, 2018. He was 78.

Wyman was born on July 24, 1940 in Enterprise, Alabama to the late Charles and Ouida Herbert. He was a proud four-year United States Air Force Veteran and retired from Overnite Transportation Company. Following his time at Overnite, Wyman owned and operated Sumter Ford Lincoln Mercury in Americus, Georgia.

An avid Auburn Tiger (WAR EAGLE!), Warner Robins Demons fan, and in more recent years, a Houston County Bears fan, he absolutely loved supporting the teams in all capacities. Wyman was a lifetime member of the Warner Robins Touchdown Club and charter member and past president of the Exchange Club. He was a faithful member of Harvest Church and their Men’s Community Group, as well. In his free time, Wyman enjoyed old cars and spending time with his grandsons.

Wyman’s memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 56 years, Carolyn Herbert of Kathleen; sons, Jay Herbert and Chuck Herbert (Kim), both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Harrison and Will Herbert; sister, June Smith of Opp, Alabama; and his beloved pet companion, “Sophie.”

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 12, 2018, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. After the service, Wyman will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Wyman to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry St., Ste A., Macon, GA 31201.
