Billy Nelson Trussell, 97, entered into rest on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Manor Lake Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Billy was born on January 23, 1929, in Reynolds, Georgia. He was the son of the late Walter M. Trussell and Julia Nelson Trussell. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Airman First Class.

Following his time in the military, Billy continued his dedication to service through his civilian career at Robins Air Force Base, where he worked in electronics for many years before retiring.

Billy was active in several organizations and enjoyed staying involved in his community. He was a member of the Air Force Association (AFA), the Senior Citizens of Warner Robins, and AARP. He also served as Vice President and an officer with the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).

He will be remembered for his service to his country, his strong work ethic, and his commitment to his community.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Carol Mathews Trussell; children, Billy Richard Trussell (Nan) and Kevin Trussell (Angeline); and siblings, Joe Trussell (Rhunell), Jackie Trussell (Dot), Bobby Trussell (Shirley), and Peggy Freeman.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Lena Marie Brown Trussell; children, Travis Trussell (Sandra), Craig Trussell (Tanya), and Sonya Morgan (Mike); nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring Billy’s life will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Billy Nelson Trussell will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Billy Nelson Trussell, to Central Baptist Church Building Fund, 1120 Lake Joy Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088.
