Albaugh Lewis, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2006. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Green Acres Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
Mr. Lewis was born on April 4, 1922 in Robertsdale, Alabama. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church and the Senior Saints Sunday School Class. Al graduated from Robertsdale High School in Alabama and attended Mississippi State University before being called to duty. In December of 1941 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was later transferred back to the United States Army Corp. Mr. Lewis retired from civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he worked as a procurement clerk. His parents, Andrew Lee Lewis and Evelyn Emmons Lewis and his son, Dennis Leland Lewis, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Ina Faye Lewis, Warner Robins; son, Dr. David Wayne Lewis, Placitas, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Gladys Lewis, Warner Robins; sister, Una Richardson, Fairhope, AL; two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two nieces, Betty Campbell, AL; and Shirley Gilmore, MN.
