During the early morning hours of Monday, February 22, 2016, 72 year old, Al Ipatenco passed away peacefully at home. He was born on August 8, 1943 in Odessa Ukraine. In 1953, Al moved to the United States where he became a resident of Chicago, Illinois. With great pride and honor he became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1965. A few years later, Al married the love of his life Patricia Harris Ipatenco.
Al, Patricia, their daughter Ada and son Robert moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where they had another son Scott, they lived in the area for over 30 years. Al and Pat moved to Denver where he worked for RK Mechanical as an HVAC Technician. After their children were grown, Al and Patricia re-located to Bonaire, Georgia. Al always had a passion for helping others; because of this passion, he became a longtime member of the Independent Order of Forrester's. He also enjoyed watching football, reading, and time spent with his beloved family.
His father, Hans Kaustner, preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife of 45 years, Patricia Ipatenco of Bonaire; children, Ada Rebecca Ipatenco-Torres (Nelson) of Bonaire; Robert Aleksander Ipatenco (Sara) of Westminster, Colorado; Mathew Scott Ipatenco (Amie) of San Diego, California; grandchildren, Ryan Ipatenco, Jocelyn Ipatenco, Amelia Ipatenco, J.T. Olesko, William Ipatenco, Celeste Torres, Tiara Torres, Nelson Torres, Jr.; mother, Maria Pervesco of Grand Junction, Colorado; brother, Mike Pervesco of Oak Brook, Illinois; sister, Nadia Huber of Addison, Illinois; as well as, many other family members and friends.
A memorial service for family and friends to celebrate Al's life will be held at a later date in Colorado.
