Dick Walden, 77, passed away in his home on Monday, July 7, 2014.
Dick was born on September 29, 1936 in Thomasville, GA. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army. He served as president in the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce for 16 years before retiring in 2000. He previously served as president of the Vidalia, GA, and the Lake City, FL, Chambers of Commerce. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as a Ruling Elder. Dick loved the outdoors and participated in many outdoor activities including camping, canoeing, and hiking. He loved photography and trips in his RV.
His father, Alfred C. Walden, Jr., preceded him in death in 1955.
His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 40 years, Nell Johnson Walden of Warner Robins, GA; mother, Ruth Walden Smith of Altoona, FL; sons Allen Walden (Mike Crider) of Fort Washington, MD, and Jeffrey Walden of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Andrew Walden of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kaitlyn Sapp of Hampton, VA; and brothers Val Walden of Hoschton, GA, Karl Walden of Ayden, NC, and John Walden of Orlando, FL.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 9, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Westview Cemetery in Wrightsville, GA, at 3:30 p.m.. Dr. Glenn Gilstrap will be officiating.
