Alice Faye Burroughs, 84, entered into rest on Sunday, October 28, 2024.
Alice Edwards was born on October 16, 1940, in Junction City, Kansas, to the late Albert and Iva Mae Edwards. A devoted member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church, she embraced her servant's heart by volunteering in numerous capacities, including The Keenagers, crafting cancer pads, organizing and participating in blood drives, and visiting convalescent and assisted living homes. As a dedicated homemaker with a special affinity for children, Alice served as an in-home caregiver from 1980 until her passing, often endearingly referred to as “Miss Alice” by those who loved her. In her leisure time, she found joy in cooking, fishing, and cherishing moments with her family, especially her two beloved grandchildren. Her gentle spirit and warm presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Allen Burroughs, Sr.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Shelia Wallace of Hawkinsville, Sherry Burroughs of Warner Robins, and Henry Burroughs, Jr. (Jo) of Brooklet; grandchildren, Ryan Burroughs (Candis), and Taylor Burroughs; and sister, Susie Wirths, along with many other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where Alice will be laid to rest.
