Allan (Rick) F. Check, 85, formerly of Franklin PA, residing in Byron GA, passed away with his loving wife
by his side on June 6, 2024. He was born on November 30, 1938, to Henry Chester and Awilda Lucille Check, who both preceded him in death.
He graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1956 and then briefly served in the United States Army.
He had several jobs throughout his life, including truck driving, bingo salesman, and was a long-time bus
driver for Valley Grove and Franklin Area School Districts.
Rick was involved with the Rocky Grove Volunteer Fire Department where he served as treasurer for many years, and on Thursday nights, you could catch him calling bingo. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, mainly Kyle Busch, Elvis Presley, Mt. Dew, the occasional sweet treat (only accompanied by milk), and playing cards/dominoes with his family and friends.
He married Dianna Lee Hartman on June 12, 1970. Also surviving are his daughter, Kathy Grizzle and husband Kevin, residing in Centerville Georgia; grandson, Eddie McDonald, of Oil City PA; sisters-in-law, Linda Beightol and husband Scott, of Franklin PA, Gayle Amaan, of Canadohta Lake PA; brother-in-law, Mike Hartman, of Franklin PA; special family friends, Sandy McCandless and Danny Johnston, Shawn McCandless and Terri Draper, Mike and Tosha McCandless, Amanda Wood and Michael Hedge, Ginny Grizzle, Donna and Kevin Dunn, all of Georgia, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, as well as Newman and Tia, his beloved Yorkies.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, are sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Robert
McGowen; brother, Milton Check; brother-in-law, Rick Rankin; sister-in-law, Linda Hartman, and special
family friends Don McCandless and Jerre McNeil, along with four nephews.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9, from 1;00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., at McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins,
