Allie Mae Mcgregor

Allie Mae McGregor, 85, passed away on Saturday July 22, 2023, after a brief illness.


Mae was born on April 26, 1938, in Desoto, Georgia to the late Richard Earl Dowdy and the late Winnie Mae Swearingen Dowdy. She spent her childhood in Americus and graduated from Americus High School in 1956. Shortly after graduation Mae married the love of her life, James Edward McGregor on September 15, 1956. Mae was a devoted mother and homemaker for her husband and two sons. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. In her spare time, Allie enjoyed bowling, reading and cross stitching.


In addition to her parents, Mae was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward McGregor.


Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Richard Edward McGregor of Warner Robins, and her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Reed McGregor and Rebecca McGregor of Warner Robins, and her grandson Reed Michael McGregor of Warner Robins.


There will be a Graveside Service at Andersonville National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.

The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Allie Mae McGregor to Pine Pointe Hospice located at 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
