Alvin Arbuckle, 80, entered into rest on Friday, September 20, 2013 after suffering from Parkinson's disease and dementia.
Mr. Arbuckle was born on June 15, 1933, in Bloomington, Illinois. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired completely in 2000 from his many world travels with Northrope and retired military. To his family, he will always be remembered most as Dad, Granddad, Pop, Uncle, Mentor and Husband. He was a good Christian man and put his God and family first in his life. His first wife, Christene West Arbuckle, daughter, Joyce Arbuckle Bata; parents, Harold and Mabel Arbuckle and siblings David, Virgil, Richard, John and Danny Arbuckle preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his loving wife, Cecile Arbuckle; children; Janice Bloomer, Dennis Arbuckle (Sandra) and Robert Arbuckle (Joyce); grandchildren; Jeremy Bata (Dawn), Emily Arbuckle, Brian Arbuckle, Valerie Gonzalez (Michael), Rebecca Wilson (Matt), Robert Arbuckle, Christina Staton (Reid) and Emily J. Arbuckle and great-grandchildren; Meredith Bata, Sophia Bata, Katlynn Hall, Jacob Hall, David Arbuckle, Calib Gonzalez, Lacey Gonzalez, Carter Staton, Jonathan Quinoes, Dylan Arbuckle and, soon to be born, baby boy Bata and brothers, Richard and Danny Arbuckle.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice of Houston County, Georgia.
