May 11, 1927 — February 16, 2024

Warner Robins

Ann Marie Kiser, 96, entered into rest on Friday, February 16, 2024.

Ann was born on May 11, 1927, in Florence, Alabama to the late James Robert and Maude Mae Carroll. She grew up in Smyrna, Georgia Where she attended Fitzhugh Lee High School. She married her beloved Lt. Oscar J. Kiser in 1945. After WWII, they began their family and traveled extensively for 31 years. Living in Japan, Germany, and many states.

She volunteered as a Gray Lady of the Red Cross and served whenever she saw a need. Most remarkably, as a Gray Lady at Fort Dix, New Jersey, she greeted wounded warriors with kindness as they returned from Vietnam.

Her church was a priority. She sang in the choir as a soloist, taught Sunday School, led WMU, went on missions, and supported missions around the world. Her church home was Friendship Baptist Church where she attended for many years. She loved her church and her pastor and was devoted to them.  Her Christian values were of great importance to her.

Ann was also an athlete. She taught gymnastics and self-defense. She got a hole in one in golf and was a member of the 200 club in bowling. Her favorite hobby was gardening. The evidence was displayed beautifully throughout her yard. She walked and talked with God in her gardens where her precious cats would follow.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She was happy, generous, and kind. She showered friends and family with love. Her presence will be deeply missed by each of us.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Colonel Oscar Julius Kiser, USAF (Ret.), son Perry L. Kiser Sr., daughter-in-law, Susan Kiser, son-in-law, Bob Carnot, and granddaughter-in-law, Jenny Kiser, along with 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children,  Wanda Ann Williamson (Bill), Sandra Marie Carnot, and Donna Rae Groberg; grandchildren, Perry Lee Kiser, Jr., Scott Kiser (Wendy), Charlie Waters, Jr. (Kim), Sean Waters (Jennifer), Kelly Waters (Jill), Ben Williamson (Hayette), Triece Brush (Craig), Rob Carnot (Kristin), Carrie Carnot Blackmon (Earnie), Annmarie Macalus (Dave), Curtis Groberg (Chenny), Andrew Groberg, Jesse Groberg (Heather), and David Groberg; along with 32 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
