Annette Kitchens Shelley, 89, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Born on September 25, 1936, in Monticello, Georgia, Annette was the beloved daughter of the late James Parks Kitchens and Ammie Jeffries Kitchens. She was raised in Jasper County, where she enjoyed a happy childhood before graduating from Monticello High School. Following graduation, she moved to Macon, where she built a life centered on faith, family, and caring for others.

Annette was a devoted member of Grace Primitive Baptist Church for many years. Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life, and she found great joy in serving her church family. She especially enjoyed welcoming and hosting out-of-town guests who traveled to attend church meetings, making everyone who entered her home feel loved and cared for.

A dedicated homemaker, Annette took great pride in creating a warm and inviting home for her family. She enjoyed participating in the Homemakers' Club, where she shared her love of crafting, cooking, and fellowship with friends. Whether she was preparing a delicious meal, working on a handmade craft, or opening her home to others, Annette found her greatest happiness in serving those around her with kindness and generosity.

Above all else, Annette cherished her family. She shared 58 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, John T. Shelley, until his passing. The life they built together was one marked by unwavering love, faith, and devotion. She treasured every moment spent with her family and leaves behind a legacy of compassion, hospitality, and quiet strength that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Annette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John T. Shelley; her brother, Carlton Kitchens; and her daughter-in-law, Sheryl Shelley.

She is lovingly survived by her son, Mike Shelley of Kathleen, Georgia; her grandson, Ryan Shelley of Kathleen, Georgia; her sister, Faye Belcher-Kahle of Covington, Georgia; her brothers, Walker Kitchens of Eatonton, Georgia, and Herman (Rozella) Kitchens of Covington, Georgia; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Summers Landing for the exceptional care, kindness, and love shown to Annette during her time there. Your support and friendship were a true blessing to both Annette and her family.
