In the afternoon hours of Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Annis slipped the bonds of this earth and gained her angel wings.
She was the beloved daughter of Carlton Bryce (C.B.) Moore and Edna Barlow Moore. She was born in Coffee County, Alabama, and spent her youth in Enterprise, Alabama, growing up in the Enterprise school system. While in high school, she was a proud Majorette in the Enterprise Marching Band for four years and served as Head Majorette during her final two. She was also active in several social and philanthropic clubs.
Upon graduation, she attended Alabama College, which was later changed to Montevallo University. Annis began a long and distinguished career in public service in September of 1957, when she joined civil service in support of the United States Army at Fort Rucker, Alabama. It was there where fate introduced her to Sidney Malcolm Clement, the love of her life. They were married 39 years before his passing.
The couple moved to Jackson, Mississippi, where Annis continued her civil service career with the United States Forest Service. While in Jackson, she welcomed two children into the world: her son, Steven Malcolm Clement, who preceded her in death, and her daughter, Kristal Clement Waller. In 1964, the family relocated to Warner Robins, Georgia. Annis continued her federal service with the United States Air Force, eventually becoming a Contracting Officer. She spent the final decade of her nearly 39-year career supporting the iconic U-2 reconnaissance aircraft, known as the "Dragon Lady," aiding both the U.S. Air Force and the CIA before retiring in 1995.
A passionate Alabama Crimson Tide fan, Annis could often be found cheering on her team, solving crossword puzzles, or rooting for her beloved Atlanta Braves. Those who knew her can almost hear her from the heavens, proudly shouting, “Roll Tide!” from her front-row seat above.
Left to treasure her memories are her daughter, Kristal Clement Waller (Timothy Waller Sr.); daughter-in-law, Megan Clement; three grandchildren, Tiffany Waller Plowden (Matt), Samantha Waller Jackson, and Timothy Waller Jr. (Krista); She was blessed to have time with her six great-grandchildren, Mille and Henry Plowden, Sydney and Sunny Jackson, and Jett and Korbyn Kate Waller.
In her later years, Annis was cared for with devotion and compassion by Kayla Hennen, who became not only a caregiver but a best friend.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Annis Moore Clement will be laid to rest in the Magnolia Park Mausoleum.
