Anthony Garrett, 63, entered into rest on Sunday, August 24, 2025.

Anthony was born on June 2, 1962, in Donalsonville, Georgia. After graduating high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Army, where he devoted 20 years of honorable service in the medical unit, including a tour during Desert Storm. Following his military career, Anthony continued his calling to care for others by working as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Over the years, he worked at various care centers, most recently at Medical Management Health and Rehab.

Anthony’s greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren who were the light of his life. He cherished making memories with them and always had a smile to share. In his free time, Anthony enjoyed cheering on Florida State University’s football and basketball teams, relaxing with a good TV show or book of poetry, traveling to new places, working on cars, and cooking, a hobby that brought him both peace and pride. Anthony will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

His parents, Helen Marie Perry and Willie Joe Garrett, preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 40 years, Margaret Garrett; daughter, Alaina McGlothlin (Jeffrey) of Alamogordo, New Mexico; grandchildren, King, Judge, and Roman McGlothlin; siblings, Joyce Marie Garrett of St. Petersburg, Florida, Leonard Garrett (Karen) of Tampa, Florida, and Reginald Garrett (Mimi) of the Philippines; longtime friends, Dwight “Brother D” Cobb and Kermit “Brother K” Smith, and loving neighbors, James and Florence Simpson, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Anthony will be laid to rest in Snowhill A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Malone, Florida.
