Arnette Sharpe Kemp, 87, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, June 29, 2026.

Arnette was born on September 21, 1938, in Millen, Georgia to the late Robert David (R.D.) and Anabelle Boyd Sharpe. From an early age, she demonstrated a love for learning, athletics, and building meaningful relationships. While attending high school, she enjoyed playing basketball, a sport that reflected her competitive spirit and love of teamwork.

Arnette went on to attend the University of Georgia, where she earned her degree before embarking on a career that would become one of her life's greatest callings. She dedicated thirty years to educating young minds as a beloved teacher at Lindsey Elementary School. Throughout her career, she was known for her patience, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping her students succeed, leaving a lasting impact on generations of children and their families.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Arnette was a devoted member of First United Methodist Church in Warner Robins. She faithfully served her church family for many years, volunteering in the church's food bank and always lending a helping hand wherever she was needed. She also generously gave her time as a volunteer in the Sacred Heart School Library, where her love of books and children continued to shine.

Outside of her work and volunteer service, Arnette embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved to travel and treasured every opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories. She was an avid sports fan, with a particular love for tennis, and enjoyed keeping up with the games she loved. Just as important to her were the friendships she cultivated over the years. She cherished her close circle of friends, enjoying their companionship, laughter, and the many memories they shared together.

Above all, Arnette's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted and loving mother who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her children, always placing their needs before her own. Her grandchildren held an especially special place in her heart. She treasured every moment spent with them, whether celebrating life's milestones or simply enjoying time together. They will forever remember her love, encouragement, and the warmth she brought to every family gathering.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Robert David Kemp (Donna) of Goldsboro, North Carolina and Crawley Kemp (Traci) of Warner Robins; her husband, Austin Kemp of Warner Robins; her grandchildren, Ashley Dixon (Harry) of Columbia, South Carolina, Danielle Osiecki (Benjamin) of Roswell, Richard Austin Kemp (Bennett) of Richmond, Virginia, and Cameron Dakak (J. Paul) of Atlanta; three great grandchildren, Finch Dixon, Chandler Kemp, and Aurora Osiecki; and a host of other extended family members and friends.
