Arrie “Faye” Ginther, 85, entered into rest on Friday, May 9, 2025.
Faye was born on February 18, 1940, in Mobile, Alabama to the late Delmus Franklin Hickman, Sr. and Elizabeth Mae Wright Hickman. As the daughter of a devoted preacher, Faye was raised in a home grounded in faith, developing a deep and lifelong love for God. Her faith remained a guiding light throughout her life, and she later served as the Sunday School superintendent at her home church—just one of the many ways she lived out her devotion.
Gifted with both a beautiful singing voice and musical talent, Faye often played the piano during church services, bringing comfort and joy to those around her through music.
A creative soul, Faye had a passion for the arts and crafts. She was an accomplished ceramicist, a skilled crocheter, and a talented seamstress—designing and sewing her own wedding dress, a testament to both her artistry and resourcefulness. A passionate reader, Faye cherished her vast personal library of over a thousand books, each a testament to her lifelong love of reading
Faye was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and infectious laughter. She truly never met a stranger—welcoming all with her signature hugs and open arms. Whether through a warm meal, a helping hand, or a kind word, she found joy in serving others and brightening their lives.
Family meant everything to Faye. She delighted in gathering her loved ones together and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her smile lit up every room, and her love left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Faye will be remembered for the legacy of kindness, creativity, and faith she leaves behind—a life beautifully lived and deeply loved.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Edward Ginther, daughter, Angela Ginther, and siblings, Jeanette Dickinson and Bill Hickman.
