Ashley Nichole Powell

Ashley Nichole Powell, a kind-hearted and compassionate soul, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. She was 38 years old.

Ashley was born on September 14, 1984, in Macon, Georgia to her loving parents Tracy Gates and Elaine Floyd. She was a source of love and positivity in the lives of all who knew her. Ashley's unwavering kindness and thoughtfulness earned her a special place in the hearts of her friends and family. Ashley's warmth knew no bounds. She possessed an extraordinary ability to find something wonderful to say about anyone she met, and her genuine compliments uplifted the spirits of those around her. Despite her own battles with cancer, Ashley remained a steadfast pillar of support for anyone who needed a listening ear. Her selflessness and empathy were truly remarkable.

One of Ashley's greatest joys was her love for children. She had a unique and infectious laughter. Her devotion to her family was unwavering, as she made it a point to check in on them daily, demonstrating her boundless love and care.

She was preceded in death by her Grandparents, Joseph and Carolyn Gates, and Michael Slaton; stepmother, Pam Gates; and her stepsister Melissa Beattie.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her parents, Tracy Gates of Macon and Patricia Floyd (Tracey Floyd) of Warner Robins; Siblings, Gregory Scott Gates (Candace) of Macon, and Kaley Thomas of Warner Robins; grandmother, Carol Slaton of Byron; and her stepbrother Matt Garrett.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 08, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with a funeral service immediately following, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Ashley will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.
