Augusta Faye Burkhardt

August 27, 1935 — January 1, 2024

Warner Robins

Augusta Faye Burkhardt passed away on the morning of Monday, January 1, 2024. She was 88 years old.

Augusta was born on August 27, 1935, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Austin R. Frazier and Bonnie Lowe Frazier. After graduating from Fulton High School in 1953, Augusta met the love of her life, Harry Burkhardt, during a blind date. He was a young man serving in the United States Air Force, and in 1954, they were married. The young couple embarked on a beautiful journey together, building a life that spanned decades. Harry's military service took them to various locations, including seven different states and two foreign countries.

Augusta was a devoted mother to her two sons, Frank and Eric. She found joy in nurturing her family and creating a warm, loving home wherever they went. Her commitment to family extended to her role as a doting grandmother, relishing the moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her role as a dedicated homemaker, Augusta served as the Secretary for Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, where her kindness and organizational skills were appreciated by all.

Augusta's passions extended beyond her family and church; she had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening.

In addition to her parents, Augusta was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Harry Herman Burkhardt; and siblings, Sue Cinnamon, and Tom Frazier.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her sons, Frank Burkhardt (Donna) of Warner Robins, Eric Burkhardt (Sandra) of Ridgecrest, California; grandchildren, Karl Burkhardt (Jennifer) of Atlanta, Jennifer Burkhardt (Carlos Ponce) of Arlington, Virginia, and Evan Burkhardt of Ridgecrest, California; great-grandchildren, Austin, and Ada Burkhardt; and sister, Anne Rushing of Maryville, Tennessee.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Magnolia Park Cemetery, where Augusta will be laid to rest.
