Augustus M. Bower, Jr.

Augustus M. Bower, Jr., 67, entered into rest on Saturday, January 24, 2009.

Mr. Bower was born on February 16, 1941, in Fitzgerald, Georgia. With pride and honor he served his country in the United States Army, having fought during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the U.S. Army and Norfolk Southern Railroad, he worked for the United States Postal Service in Warner Robins for eight years. Central Baptist Church was his church home where he was a charter member. His parents, Augustus and Kate Bower, Sr., preceded him in death.

His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Angela Plunkett, Aiken, South Carolina, Patty Jo Sanders, Cochran, and Marty Bower, III, Macon; brother, Eddie Bower, Warner Robins; grandchildren, Brittni Bower, Chase Bower, Adam Sanders, Brian Sanders and Courtney Sanders; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
