Barbara McGow Broadwater, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, at the age of 73. Born on October 3, 1951, in Macon, Georgia, Barbara was a ray of light in the lives of all who knew her.
Barbara's dedication to her family and friends was unwavering. She poured love into everything she did, whether it was through her passionate volunteer work with Meals on Wheels or her commitment to helping others as a poll worker and voter registrar. Her generous spirit extended to everyone she encountered, and she had an extraordinary gift for listening, always providing comfort and support to those in need.
A talented jewelry maker, Barbara expressed her creativity through her beautiful designs, which brought joy to many. She was also a proud member of the Eastern Star, where she forged lasting friendships and made a difference in her community.
One of Barbara's most cherished roles was that of a loving wife and mother. She embraced her family wholeheartedly and was particularly proud to adopt a "second daughter," extending her love and support even further.
Barbara’s warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and service, reminding us all of the power of love and community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma McGow; daughter, Tiffany Broadwater; and siblings, Ada, Alice, Sonja, Charles, Jr., and Eleanor.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, Jerome Broadwater; grandson, Davon Broadwater of Atlanta; sister-in-law, Martha McGow; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, with a funeral service immediately following in the chapel. Afterward, Barbara will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
