Barbara Sue Loyd

Barbara Sue Loyd, 68, entered into rest on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Barbara was born on May 9, 1957 in Macon, Georgia to James Ronald Burnette and Barbara Jean Burnette.

A devoted mother, grandmother and friend, Barbara lived her life with a deep sense of faith, joy and unwavering support for those she loved.

A proud Georgia Bulldog football fan, Barbara rarely missed a game and was always ready to cheer on her team. Her happiest moments often revolved around attending her sons’ sports and musical events throughout the years.

Barbara was a dedicated civil servant, retiring after 30 years of service at Robins Air Force Base.

Her faith played a central role in her life. She was active at both Centerpoint and Southside Baptist churches, where she built lifelong friendships and found great joy in fellowship with her group named the “Crazy Grandmas,” a group that brought her laughter, support, and deep companionship

Above all, Barbara cherished her role as a grandmother. She was endlessly supportive, always ready with a kind word, a warm hug. Her love was steady, generous, and felt by all who knew her.

Barbara’s legacy of kindness, devotion, and joyful spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her memory will forever be treasured by her sons Joey Loyd (Jamie) of Bonaire, GA and Chad Loyd of Warner Robins, GA, her grandchildren Mia Loyd and Marley Loyd, her mother Barbara Burnette, her brother Steve Burnette of Bonaire, GA and sister Connie Greene of Bonaire, GA. She was preceded in death by her father James Burnette.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2024, at Southside Baptist Church. Afterward, Barbara will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
