Barbara Opal Miller

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Opal Miller, who departed this life peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on the evening of Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the age of 90.

Barbara was born on October 5, 1935, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to the late Paul Roland Wiggins, Sr. and Pauline Moore Wilde. She dedicated many years of service to the State of Maryland in the tax industry before retiring. In 1997, she moved from Annapolis, Maryland, to Warner Robins, Georgia, where she created a warm and welcoming home filled with love and cherished memories.

A devoted mother of seven, Barbara found her greatest joy in her family. She especially treasured watching her grandchildren grow and took immense pride in each of them. Her love for her family was deep and unwavering, and she was equally adored in return.

Barbara was a gifted and creative spirit. She delighted in making porcelain dolls and lovingly crafted and sewed beautiful dresses for them. She also found great joy in making Christmas decorations, sharing her creativity and warmth with family and friends during the holiday season.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Chastain.

She leaves behind a legacy of love that will be forever cherished by her children: Verna Lee (David) of Warner Robins, Jody Haines of Kathleen, Jimmy Emmert (Lori) of Maryland, Paula Bradley of Kathleen, Paul Emmert of California, and Robert Miller of Maryland, along with many devoted and adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At the family’s request, all services will be private.
