Barbara Jean Moss

Barbara Jean Moss, 88, entered into rest on Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Born on December 9, 1936, in Lindale, Georgia, Barbara was the daughter of the late Thomas Howard Knowles, Sr. and Bertie Mae Brown Knowles. For many years, she delivered newspapers for the Daily Sun before ultimately retiring from the Houston County Board of Education as a baker.

Barbara loved playing softball and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “J.B.” Moss; five brothers; and three sisters.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Howard Moss (Linda) and Gene Moss (Cheri); four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.; several great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other beloved extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Afterward, Barbara Jean Moss will be laid to rest in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
