Barbara Westbrook Waddle, 96, passed away peacefully at her home on August 24, 2026, surrounded by the life and legacy she had built over more than nine decades.

It is difficult to remember Barbara’s life without also remembering her beloved husband, Ted—the love of her life and her partner for 70 1/2 years. Born on July 23, 1930, Barbara met Ted, a young Kentucky farm boy, while working for the Kentucky Highway Department. They married in 1949, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, family, service, and community.

Shortly after their marriage, Barbara and Ted moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, where they built a large and loving family. Barbara is survived by their four children: Ted Jr. (Sheila, deceased), Donna (Donald), Debbie, and Tim (Jann); six grandchildren: Tracy, Bryan, Sara, Mark (deceased), Brooks, and Woods; nine great-grandchildren: Hannah, Rebekah, Tessa, Alyssa, Cooper, Carter, Madison, Ethan, and Paxton; and two great-great-grandchildren, Bodhi and Nyjah. Barbara took immense pride in the family she and Ted created and cherished every generation of it.

She is also survived by her brother, Claude (Gwen), her sister, Priscilla (Larry, deceased), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Barbara devoted much of her life to serving her community. She was active in numerous civic and community organizations, including PTA boards, the Women’s Club, the Garden Club, the Republican Women’s Club, and the Planning and Zoning Committee. She also served on the Houston County Board of Elections for more than 39 years. Even after decades of dedicated service, Barbara knew when it was time to make room for the next generation. In her 90s, she stepped down from her position, saying simply that it was time to “let a young person take the role.”

In 2003, Barbara and Ted were honored by the Warner Robins Chamber of Commerce with the Charlie L. Jones Award for Community Service, recognizing their lasting contributions to the community they loved.

Barbara’s commitment to Northside High School was another defining part of her life. Not long after the school opened in 1963, she began volunteering with the Booster Club. She eventually became responsible for reserved-seat ticket sales for the Northside Eagles football program, a position she faithfully held for more than five decades alongside her dear friend, Sue Kinsaul. Her dedication became a cherished tradition and an enduring part of the Northside community.

Barbara will be remembered for her unwavering love of family, her generosity, her service to others, her wonderful cooking, and the warmth of her open home. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and cared for, and her influence extended far beyond her immediate family.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; in the friendships she cultivated throughout her life; in the halls of Northside High School; and throughout the Warner Robins community she served and loved so dearly.

Barbara lived a long and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, friendship, and service that will continue for generations to come.

A funeral service in honor of Barbara's life will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.
