Barbara was born to the late Carlton and Gladys (Parr) Adkins on May 30, 1940, in Argo, Alabama. The family moved several times, eventually residing in Hialeah, Florida, where she met the love of her life, Dale “Wally” Wallace, who preceded her in death. They were married for nearly 46 years and lived in Columbia, South Carolina.

Barbara was a soulmate to Wally, who always called her his “beautiful bride,” and a warm and loving mother to their two daughters, Andrea (Wallace) Selby and Angela Wallace. Shortly after Dale retired from the SC Air National Guard, they moved to Warner Robins, Georgia, to be near their three granddaughters, Amanda, Victoria, and Rachel.

She enjoyed attending ceramics classes at the Senior Center and spending time with her family. She participated in the Red Hat Society with her sister-in-love, Cheryl Hernandez, and they frequently went on cruises together after Dale’s passing. Barbara attended Mount Calvary Lutheran Church with her sister-in-love, Cheryl, and attended Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church with her daughters, Andrea and Angela.

Barbara shared countless loving moments around the kitchen table with family and loved ones, sharing meals, playing games, and talking and laughing. She loved visiting with her two younger sisters, Carleen Kipple and Pam Selby, who both lived in Warner Robins, especially joining them for a cup of coffee.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Dale “Wally” Wallace, and her beloved sisters, Carleen Kipple and Pam (Rollins) Selby.

Barbara is survived by her brother, Carlton “Butch” (Judi) Adkins; her sister-in-love, Cheryl (Dennis) Hernandez; her brother-in-love, Dennis (Pam) Selby; her daughters, Andrea (David) Selby and Angela Wallace; her granddaughters, Amanda Selby, Victoria (Jared) Vickers, and Rachel Selby. She also had many loved nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Her kind heart and quick wit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
