Belinda Johnson, 70, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
Belinda was born on January 27, 1956, in Savannah, Georgia. From the very beginning, Belinda was a big dreamer with a free spirit and an unstoppable imagination. She channeled this into developing a beautiful voice that she used to bless countless people over the years. Belinda sang with a number of famous bands throughout the years and even had the opportunity to sing for the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. She was also an accomplished voice teacher, leading many of her students to successfully compete in pageants.
Belinda’s life was dominated by her big heart, which she was blessed to share first with her husband of thirty years, Mark Joseph Johnson, and later with their children and grandchildren. She was fiercely protective of her children and was the best Nanny you could ask for. Belinda was happiest when she could sit and play with her grandbabies.
When she wasn’t singing or caring for her family, Belinda was an avid event planner. She even spent time as the Cherry Blossom Festival coordinator. Belinda always had a funny story to share with anyone willing to let her bend their ear. She was a devoted Christian, her faith an important part of her life, and she loved to pull for her Crimson Tide.
Belinda will be remembered for her endless imagination, her heart for those around her, and her giving spirit. Her impact as a wife, mother, Nanny, sister, aunt, and friend will not soon be forgotten.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Carter and Joann Harkins, and her brother, Joey Ledlow.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband, Mark Joseph Johnson; her children, Joshua Hoover of Valdosta, GA, Jessica Ferreyra (Guss) of Dunwoody, GA, and Mark J. Johnson, Jr. (Shannon) of Orlando, FL; her grandchildren, Malia and Jaxon Hoover, Dax and Brody Ferreyra, and Anslee Hoover; her brothers, Mark Harkins and Scotty Ledlow; her nephews, Christopher, Nicholas, Stephen, and Jonathan Harkins; her niece, Susie Ledlow; and her dear dog, “Buddy;” along with a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. in McCullough Funeral Home’s Chapel. Belinda will then be laid to rest at Perry Memorial Gardens.
The family will accept flowers or donations may be given in memory of Belinda to a charity of your choosing.
