Bernice Gilman, 88, entered into rest on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
Bernice was born on August 28, 1926 in Adgateville, Georgia to the late Howard and Ruth Barker. A proud "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II, she retired as a civil service aircraft mechanic from Robins Air Force Base. Bernice loved the outdoors and working in her yard. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was dearly loved by her family.
She was preceded in death by her children Susan Kraemer, Robert Gilman, and Catherine "Kit" Thompson.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving daughter, Faye Syme of Centerville; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, Joe Barker (Judy) of Lilburn; sister, Esther Waits (Pittard) of Macon; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in Hebron Cemetery in Monticello, Georgia.
