Berta D. Childress

Berta D. Childress, 76, passed away on Sunday, October 5, 2014.

Mrs. Childress was born on November 26, 1937 in Lumber City, Georgia. She lived in Warner Robins and Hazlehurst for most of her life. She retired from Robins Air Force Base in 1994, having worked as an Item Manager. Church of God was her faith. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Lumber City chapter for many years where she once served as Worthy Matron. Her parents, James and Henrietta Dickens, five brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of forty eight years, Richard Childress and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Riverside Cemetery in Lumber City, Georgia.
