Betty Whittington Pearce

March 4, 1937 — April 27, 2025

Warner Robins

Betty Whittington Pearce, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister and friend, brought joy, sass, and light into the lives of all who knew her. Born on March 4, 1937, to the late Simon and Mizzie Castleberry Whittington, Betty lived a life full of warmth, humor and wit, until she peacefully entered into rest on April 27, 2025.

A proud graduate of Crisp County High School, Betty earned the title of Salutatorian, showing early on that she had both intelligence and determination. She went on to attend Middle Georgia Technical College, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Communications—a fitting field for someone who never met a stranger and could light up a room with her words.

Betty had a passion for flowers and people. She worked for many years at JoAna’s Florist in Perry, helping others express love, joy, and sympathy through gorgeous arrangements until the shop closed. Later, she joined the customer service team at Walmart, where she was a familiar face and a favorite among customers and coworkers alike, finally retiring in 2015.

Betty loved crossword puzzles and was a master of circle word puzzles. She was the kind of woman who’d offer a witty remark just when you needed a laugh, and she never let a good joke go to waste.

Betty was sassy, she was fun, and she was absolutely hilarious. Her laughter was infectious, her smile unforgettable, and her spirit unshakable. Whether she was cracking a joke or cutting up with friends and family, she made sure there was never a dull moment.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Betty’s legacy of joy, love, and quick-witted charm will continue to shine in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.

Heaven just got a little sassier.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary M. Smith, Julian Whittington, Robert Lee Whittington, and Judy Ann Whittington; and granddaughter, Stephanie Lynn Pearce.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Vicki Brooks (Christopher), David Pearce (Lisa), and Angie Brock (Carlton); grandchildren, Crystal Lee Young, Tonya Lashay Oliver, David B. Pearce, Wesley Trimnal, Jeremy Perry, Angel Brock, Joshua Brock, and Jonathon Brock; and great-grandchildren, Kenneth Young, Alex Nations, Alex Hood, Jamie Hood, Novela Hood, Cameron Hood, and Jody Oliver.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Betty will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
