Beverly Birkholz Butler, 74, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025, at her residence.
Beverly was born on February 20, 1951, in Oak Park, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late Ray T. Birkholz and Edna Wiesman.
Beverly dedicated many years of her life as a hospice nurse at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee, offering comfort and care to those in need. After retiring, she continued to pour her heart into the things she loved most.
Beverly was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, and solving puzzles. She adored traveling to the Smoky Mountains and Cades Cove. Beverly was a passionate fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. She also treasured her cats, “Maggie” and “Annie.”
Above all, Beverly cherished her family. She loved her grandchildren, relished family time, and never missed a chance to play games and share laughter. She was also a passionate supporter of the arts and involved in local theater as a devoted patron.
In addition to her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Birkholz.
Her memory will be held dear by her daughters, Amy Cranford (Jeff), Sara Butler-Tongate (Clayton), and Jenny Butler-Cole (Dave); grandchildren, Emily, Thomas, and Elizabeth Cranford; brothers, Bill Birkholz (Sheila), Dave Birkholz (Barbara), Jim Birkholz (Pam); as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 04, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Afterward, Beverly Birkholz Butler will be laid to rest privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given in memory of Beverly Birkholz Butler to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Grand Central Station P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163.
