Billy Coleman Vaughn

July 30, 1935 — November 23, 2023

Bonaire

Billy Coleman Vaughn, 88, entered into rest on Thursday, November 23, 2023.

Billy was born on July 30, 1935, in Douglas, Georgia to the late Mathew and Myrtle Ray Vaughn. Billy worked on Robins Air Force Base as a civil service program manager, retiring after 32 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Billy's genuine warmth and kindness transformed strangers into friends with effortless grace. A true gentleman, he had the rare gift of making everyone feel like family. His heart knew no bounds, radiating unconditional love that touched the lives of all fortunate enough to cross his path. Among the many jewels in Billy's crown of relationships, his granddaughter Alexis held a special place. Their bond was a testament to the depth of his love and the joy he found in family connections. We carry with us the warmth of his smile, the wisdom of his words, and the enduring legacy of a life well-lived. Billy will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on in the memories and hearts of those who were blessed to call him friend, family, or simply, someone special.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Stone Vaughn, sister, Florine Vaughn Walker and her husband, Billy Walker.

His memory will forever be treasured by his daughter, Fran Rowe (Allen) of Macon, Georgia, granddaughter, Alexis Rowe (Jordan), and sister, Ruby Vaughn Walker (Ray).

Visitation will be Monday, November 27, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home.  A funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home.  Afterward, Billy will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Mausoleum.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Billy’s nurse, James, caregiver, Latoya, and all the staff at Enhabit Hospice for the love and care shown to him. Another special thanks to Billy’s neighbors Linda, Derrick for your ongoing help and Justin for cutting his grass and otherwise helping him where it was needed; your efforts are greatly appreciated.
