Bobby Joe Watkins, 85, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.
Born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Bobby Joe Watkins lived a life defined by dedication to his country, his work, and most of all, his family. After graduating from high school, he proudly joined the United States Air Force, where he served for 23 years and earned the rank of Master Sergeant. His years in the Air Force reflected his strong work ethic and commitment to service.
Following his military career, Bobby continued serving his country as an engine technician in civil service at Robins Air Force Base. He worked there for 20 years before retiring.
Bobby was married to the love of his life, Caroll Watkins, for 46 wonderful years until her passing. Their life together was filled with love, family, and many cherished memories.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, and snow skiing. Bobby was known as a quiet man for much of his life, though in his later years he became quite the conversationalist, always ready to share stories and laughter with those around him. He especially loved family vacations and treasured the time spent with his loved ones.
Above all, Bobby adored his grandchildren and took great joy in watching them grow.
He will be remembered for his steady presence, his devotion to family, and a life well lived. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Caroll; son, Tracy Watkins; and parents.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Yvonne Williams (Doug) of Somerset, OH and Bernadine Wallace (Doug) of Grove City, OH; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; and good friend, Sharon Durden.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
