With deep sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Brenda Bateman Creamer, who joined the love of her life, Jerry C. Creamer, in heaven on the evening of Friday, April 10, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born on March 25, 1949, in Byron, Georgia, Brenda was the youngest of eleven children born to the late Rev. Forest Bateman and Iona Pace Bateman. She spent most of her life in Macon before relocating to Warner Robins in 2011. As the daughter of a pastor, Brenda’s faith was woven into her life from an early age. It was while passing out church flyers that she met the love of her life, Jerry. They were married on Valentine’s Day in 1969, sharing a devoted love that endured until his passing in 2023.
Brenda dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family as a loving wife and homemaker, raising her daughters with care and devotion. After her children were grown, she worked in several roles over the years, including with the office of Dr. Clyde Marlowe, Northside Rehabilitation Hospital, and GEICO.
Brenda found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and sisters. She loved watching Christmas Hallmark movies, singing hymns with her beautiful voice, and caring for her beloved cat, Charlie. Her warm smile and gentle spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses: Perry and Sara Bateman, Travis and Betty Bateman, Wendell Bateman, Doris and JC Scott, Melba and Buddy Roland, Jerry Sorrow, and Tommy Walston.
She leaves behind a legacy of love cherished by her daughters, Shannon Long (Kevin) of Macon and Sharon Thompson (Robert) of Warner Robins; her grandchildren, Kelley Thompson Allen (Jay), Austin Hunter Long, Andrew Forest Long, and Bryan Joshua Thompson (Mallory); her great-grandchildren, Riley Benjamin Allen and Robert “Robby” Charles Allen; her siblings, Elene Johnson (Jimmy), Linda Walston, Carol Sorrow, and Carolyn Kory (Richard); as well as numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Visitation with Brenda’s family will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Her son-in-law, Robert Thompson, will officiate. Brenda will be laid to rest beside her husband at Magnolia Park Cemetery following the service.
The family welcomes flowers, or donations may be made in Brenda’s memory to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 676910, Dallas, TX 75267, or the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
