Brenda Sue Darnell, 73, entered into rest on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
Brenda was born on December 9, 1951, in Perry, Georgia, to the late Homer Smith and Ruby Smith. She grew up in Warner Robins and graduated from Warner Robins High School in 1970. Shortly after, she began a lifelong career with Houston Healthcare, where she faithfully served as a medical records coordinator for more than 40 years.
A woman of strong faith, Brenda was a devoted member of Destiny Church of God in Byron, where she found joy in fellowship and worship. She embraced life with a warm spirit and a constant smile, bringing happiness to those around her. Her greatest treasure was her family, especially her siblings, who held a special place in her heart.
In her quiet moments, Brenda enjoyed the simple pleasure of reading, a pastime that reflected her love for learning and imagination. Brenda’s sweet countenance will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her siblings, Kennon Smith (Lucy) of Forsyth, Gail Hall (Steve) of Byron, and Darrell Smith (Gina) of Warner Robins; nephew, Clay Smith of Forsyth; niece, Stephanie Lang (Jason) of Byron; great-nieces, Kendall Marshall and Jordan Lang, and great-nephews, Luke Allen, Jason Lang, Jr., along with many other loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Destiny Church of God in Byron. Afterward, Brenda will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
