Carl ''Shag'' Peavy

Shag Peavy, 59, passed away at his home Saturday, December 31, 2011.

"Shag" was born in Ashburn, Georgia. He was well-known throughout the community from thirty-two years in the Local 26 Boilermakers Union, Middle Georgia Cruisers, among many other charities.

Survivors include his wife, Angie Peavy; daughter, Rachel Peavy Patton, grandson Xander Patton, nephew William "Ronnie" Peavy, all of Macon; sister-in-law, Cyndi (Glenn) Callaway, nephew, "Red"; brother-in-law, Tony (Debbie) Hackney; niece and nephews, Tiffany, TJ, Kevin and Christopher; and father-in-law, Frank (Judy) Hackney. Other survivors include sister-in-law, Lynda Peavy Dortch of Macon; niece Billie Jo Hittle of Indiana; aunt, Marlyin Stanfield, cousin, Vicki Stanfield and daughter of Moultrie, two sisters; Claudet (Doug) Gladden and Bonnie (Son) Nyugen; and children, and beloved pets, Molly and Scooter. As well as he was the son of the late W.C. Peavy and Wylene Moore. "Shag" was preceded by two brothers, William "Ratchet" and Joseph Andrew; and brother-in-law, Curtis Hackney.

Visitation and viewing will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home in Warner Robins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be mailed to R.S.P., 208 Brittany Court, Macon, GA 31216.
