Carol Ann Watson entered into rest on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. She was 84 years old.
Born in Ravenna, Ohio, on March 30, 1941, Carol was the daughter of the late Frank and Marie Machisko Miazga. She spent her early years between Ravenna and St. Petersburg Beach - Bay View, Florida, where she graduated from Boca Ciega High School. Known affectionately as “Dusty,” Carol stood out as a gifted swimmer, particularly excelling in the breaststroke.
At the age of 18, Carol married Donald M. Watson. As a devoted homemaker, she supported him through his service in both the U.S. Coast Guard and the United States Air Force. Their journey took them to Tampa, Little Rock, and Alconbury, England, and at every location, Carol made sure their house felt like home. In 1979, they settled in Warner Robins, Georgia, where Carol began working for Holiday Food Stores as a general manager and later had a career on Robins Air Force Base as a secretary with the United States Air Force Reserves.
After Donald's passing in 1987, Carol found companionship in 1994 with J.C. Gallimore. Together, they shared many travels and good memories until his passing in 2007.
Carol had a passion for life and a heart full of love. She raised German Shepherds and Afghan Hounds, enjoyed crafting, floral arranging, and scrapbooking. Sundays were reserved for family, where she cooked meals for her grandchildren and made sure holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas were full of laughter and togetherness. Her beloved cocker spaniel, “Dusty,” was always close by. She was always present for her grandchildren and went to all of their activities. She absolutely loved being a Grandma. Carol also loved traveling with friends, playing BINGO, the color purple, and her favorite flowers were pansies. Carol also enjoyed fellowship with her senior church group, Central 5-0, at Central Baptist Church.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, John Watson (Suzanne), and Dawn Morgan (John); grandchildren, Pierce and Grant Morgan, and Jack, Cameron, McKenna, and Maverick Watson; siblings, Frank Miazga (Joey), and Rosalie Rakow.
A celebration of life will be held at the Riverbend Clubhouse at 522 Altamaha Way, Bonaire, Georgia 31005, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Carol will be laid to rest privately.
