Carolyn George-Mercer, born in Macon, Georgia, to the late Leo and Lessie Clements, peacefully entered into heaven on January 22, 2026.

Carolyn lived a life marked by faith, devotion, and love. Her faith in Christ was central to who she was and how she lived each day. It shaped her values, guided her actions, and provided her with comfort and hope throughout her life.

Carolyn found great joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved to watch birds, often taking time to observe their beauty and freedom, finding peace in those quiet moments. She also enjoyed planting flowers, nurturing them with care and pride, and finding joy in seeing them grow and bloom. Her love for nature reflected her gentle spirit and appreciation for God’s creation.

Christmas was especially dear to her heart. It was a season she cherished for its meaning, traditions, and time spent with loved ones. The joy, warmth, and faith that filled her during the Christmas season remained with her throughout the year.

Above all else, Carolyn was devoted to her family. She was always there for them—offering encouragement, comfort, and steadfast love. Her presence was a source of strength, and her care was constant and unconditional.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her grandson, Logan George; and siblings, Louis Clements and Rose Lee Gaultney.

Her memory will forever be treasured by her beloved husband, James Mercer, Jr.; sons, Chris George (Audra) and Bo George (Ally); grandchildren, Garrett George, Braden George, and Bo George, III (Leigh); great-grandson, Waylon Desin and great-granddaughter, Katie George.

Visitation will be Friday, January 30, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Southside Baptist Church. Afterward, Carolyn will be laid to rest privately.
