Carrie Worley Fobbus

On Monday, July 4, 2016, Carrie Fobbus went to be with the Lord in Heaven. She was 95.

Carrie was born in Roopville, Georgia, one of 17 children to the late Robert L. and Bertha A. Green Worley. She graduated from Roopville High School, and at the early age of 18, married the love of her life, Buren Lewis Fobbus. In the late 1940s, the Fobbus family moved to Macon where Carrie worked with the Naval Ordinance Plant and to Warner Robins in 1951 where she later worked for Houston Medical Center.

Mrs. Fobbus was a charter member of Central Baptist Church where she was a much-loved member of the Central 5-0's. She loved her church family and spent most of her free time serving the church by decorating. Carrie was also a member of the Pioneer Club, as well as the Civilian Wive's Club. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, faith, and love will forever live on through her family.

She leaves her memory behind with her loving children, Michael L. Fobbus of Cartersville and J. Bryan Fobbus (Robin) of Kathleen; grandchildren, Chris Fobbus, Holly Place, and Victoria McDougall; great-grandson, Lucas Place; sisters, Lois Gaither, Lyda Prince, and Lily Hurd; and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 7th at Central Baptist Church. Following the service, Mrs. Fobbus will be laid to rest in Magnolia Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests memorial donations be given in memory of Carrie Fobbus to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
