Charlie “Steve” Beck, 77, entered into rest on Monday, July 7, 2025.

Steve was born on November 6, 1947, in Macon, Georgia. He grew up in Macon and graduated from Dudley Hughes High School in 1968. Shortly after, he was drafted into the United States Army for two years, where he served honorably as a radio operator, with tours in Germany and Vietnam.

Following his military service, Steve lived a full and varied professional life. He worked as a salesman for Western Auto, a TV and appliance repairman for M&W, and later spent ten years in civil service at Robins Air Force Base where he met his sweetheart, Donna. He even donned a clown costume for a time, bringing smiles to those around him. Ultimately, he found his calling as a self-employed electrician, earning a reputation as a dedicated professional who handled major commercial projects with skill and pride.

Steve had a lifelong love of music and played both bass and rhythm guitar in several bands during his younger years. An avid gymnast in his youth, he later delighted in passing along trampoline tricks to his kids and grandkids. A diehard fan of local high school football, Steve could often be found traveling across Georgia to cheer on the Warner Robins teams he loved so much.

Family meant everything to Steve. He cherished camping trips with loved ones, especially to the Smoky Mountains, Cades Cove, and Abrams Falls. He was a man of deep faith, generous spirit, and infectious joy. Often described as jovial, sleepy, hungry, and fashionably late, Steve never met a stranger and always made people feel welcome. He had an abiding love for fried chicken, his family, and his two beloved (and now dearly missed) dogs, Rocky and Chad. Steve will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Beck, mother, Alma Sellers Robertson, stepfather, Archie Robertson, son, James S. Peacock, grandson, Trevor Kenneth Beck and great-grandson, Thomas Clinton Roberts.

His memory will forever be treasured by his wife of 38 years, Donna H. Beck; children, Joe Peacock (Billie), Jennifer Peacocok Collins (Phillip), Kenneth Steve Beck (Marie), Cindy Tanner (Jim); grandchildren, Ryan Lyons (Bettina), April Peacock, Amber Peacock, Allen Peacock (Brittany), Julie Peacock, Hannah Woodley (Travis), Caleb Peacock (Haleigh), Jared Peacock (Rachel), Justin Peacock, and Ben Tanner; great-grandchildren, Michael Lyons, Kaitlyn Lyons, Julia Schillawski, Slade Lyons, Rylan Schillawski, Savannah Woodley, Summer Woodley, Audrie Fulcher, Ryder Peacock, Harlow Hales, Shayla Wodi, Kayla O’Connor, Kylie Cole, Samantha Cole, Kyndal Peacock, Tinley Peacock, Hunter Capelle, Liam Peacock, Jane Peacock, Emilia Peacock, Sadie Peacock, and Callie Peacock; siblings, Shelby Beck Barlow (Eugene), Victor L.
