Christine Ann Hogan, aged 55, passed away this December in her Georgia home.
Born in New Haven on September 28, 1968, the youngest of four children to Charlie Hogan and Carol Andrus. Christine lived her life all around the United States, moving from Connecticut to California, Oregon, Alabama, Tennessee, and finally Georgia. A Communications Major at Northeastern University, Christine had an extraordinary gift of making conversation with just about anyone. She particularly loved meeting new friends with whom she could discuss the Bruins and the Red Sox, taking any opportunity to brag that she was at Fenway Park when the Sox won the 2004 World Series. Christine enjoyed photography as a means to preserve her favorite memories, often personalizing her pictures with beautiful golden script to ensure nothing was forgotten. She was also fiercely proud of our troops, working especially hard raising funds for the Wounded Warrior Project. Local libraries and schools also benefitted from her volunteer work.
Christine will have a joyful reunion in heaven with her beloved fiancé, Army CWO Erik Kesterson; her beautiful sister, Carol Lynn; her cherished father, Charlie Hogan; her caring stepfather, Cliff Andrus; and her favorite cat, Mr. Manhattan.
Those of us she leaves behind include her mother, Carol Andrus; her stepmother, Rita Hogan; her brother, Charles Hogan; her sister, Charlene Spillane and her daughters, Kelly and Christine’s namesake Chrissy, her husband, Brad and four children; her late sister Carol Lynn’s son, James and his wife MK and their children; her stepbrother, Eric Carta and his wife Camella and daughter; her stepsister, Tracy Thurston and her husband, Paul and children; along with extended family including PJ & Mary Penny.
A memorial service will be held in York, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Christine’s name.
