Claude "Chief" Hobby, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 25, 2009.
Mr. Hobby was born on November 12, 1926, in Sycamore, Georgia. With pride and honor he served his country during World War II and the Vietnam Conflict, and later retired as Chief Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force. He was very active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He called Southside Baptist Church his church home. His loving wife of fifty-seven years, Margaret Hobby, and parents, Claude and Inez Hobby, Sr., preceded him in death.
His memory will forever be treasured by his children, Larry Hobby (Jean), Portland, Oregon; Pam Clark, Bonaire; Shelley Harkins (John), Marshallville; Trisha Eck (Tom), Warner Robins, and Kerry Hobby (Patti), Macon; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and sister, Tina Smith (Junior), Powder Springs.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 27, 2009, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at Southside Baptist Church with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The Reverends Jerry Walls and Dennis Clark will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins GA 31088 or Southside Baptist Church, 1040 South Houston Lake Road, Warner Robins GA 31088.
