Clifford "Sue" Helton

Clifford "Sue" Helton, 83, entered into rest on Monday March 11, 2008.

Mrs. Helton was born on November 27, 1924 in Toomsboro, Georgia. She attended Wilkinson County schools in Toomsboro. With pride and honor she served her country in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1945. At the age of 73, after twenty-five years of service, she retired from Robins Air Force Base, where she was a Plastics Worker. After retirement, she obtained a degree as a Licensed Practitioner Nurse, and used her training at Peachbelt Heath and Rehabilitation Center. She was a long standing member of Warner Robins Christian Missionary Alliance where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School in her earlier years. Her husband, Oscar L. Helton, parents, Rufus Russell Horton and Alice V. Horton Helton, step-mother, Mable Helton, step-father, Barney Helton preceded her in death.

Family members include her foster daughter, Cheryle Crosby, Bonaire and nephew, Rufus Russell Horton, Middleburg, Florida.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 Magnolia Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association, 17 Executive Park Drive, Atlanta, GA 30329.
