Early on the morning of Friday, October 9, 2026, CMSgt. Phillip Brice Waltz, USAF (Ret.), 81, peacefully passed from this life to the next.

CMSgt. Waltz was born on January 25, 1945, in South Whitley, Indiana, to the late Henry and Juanita Bair Waltz. With honor and valor, he proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He subsequently transferred to the United States Air Force to continue a stellar career before retiring from military service with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He continued his service to his community as a booking officer with the City of Warner Robins from where he also eventually retired after ten years of loyal service. If you were ever looking for CMSgt. Waltz, you would likely find him on a golf course doing what he loved to do more than anything else. He had an exuberant passion for life, and he never met a stranger. CMSgt. Waltz will truly be missed by those who loved him most.

His memory will forever be treasured by his adoring wife of fifty-eight years, Diana Harmeyer Waltz; his daughters, Carrie Waltz and Stacey Nau (Bobby—whom he loved like a son); his grandson, Robert Paul Nau; his beloved dog, Pepper; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

The funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Cleghorn officiating. Following the service, CMSgt. Waltz will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens.

McCullough Funeral Home and Crematory has the privilege of being entrusted with these arrangements.
